Dear Vincent,
There are no words that can express how proud of you we are and how we thank God every day for blessing us with you. Your unconditional support and love is the greatest gift you could ever give to us. Your unselfish behavior and compassion you have towards your brother is one reason our family works so well. Your understanding of when to push and when to back off is a tremendous support and makes our days run so smoothly.
We are so thankful that you never fight with your brother and try to make him have successful experiences. You are at times held to a much higher standard than most children and you take that in stride. You understand that you have an obligation to our family to take a breath and to see things in a different way.
Dad and I try very hard for you not to miss out on anything and try to give you everything you need to feel supported and appreciated. We try to make sure that you have your own special time and have times when autism isn’t thrown in your face. You have never said things are not fair or asked why you had to be held to a higher standard, you just know.
Vincent, you are such a bright start that makes all our lives shine. You continued to be independent and we never have to worry about what you will do, will your homework be done, or what actions you will take. We know you will push yourself and excel. We will always worry about you because you are our child but we never have to worry about what actions you will take and that means more to us than you will ever know.
We want you to always remember you are so very special and we will always have your back. We want you to know that you can always tap out if things get too rough or things seem unfair. We will always listen to you and try to understand what you need or what you are saying. We will always be your biggest fans and we will have your back always.
We love you, sweet Vincenzo! Thank you for being you and for being the such a compassionate and loving son and brother. We will love you and support you always.
Love,
Mom and Dad
